The air was abust with the aroma of hotdogs and sweat. Yes folks, it was Memorial day and the start of wiffleball season.
This year brought forth the usual harden vets, mvp's and all-stars, but it was a rookie who stole the show. Rookie sensation Nate "the hitdog" Kush, fresh from AAA Kalamazoo, drove a ball deep over the monster to end a three game series. " I had a feeling I was going to get a hold of one." said the young Kush with a huge smile on his face. Earlier in the game , Nate drove two balls deep into left center but the defensive minded Frantz tracked them down for outs. But in game three, bottom of the 5th, Nate got a hold of one sending the thousands in attendace home for the night.
Another rookie call up, Sam Iam, was solid in the three game set. Rookie Jeff Cranson has writers already clamoring about a rookie triple crown.
